Cass County and the Pharos-Tribune

Because Logansport, Indiana, is located 20 miles northwest of Kokomo, Indiana, 70 miles north of Indianapolis, and 130 miles south of Chicago, Logansport is at the heart of the Crossroads of America. Many entrepreneurs, families and firms have made their mark in Cass County. In the process they have built a rich, enterprising tradition that affirms the proud spirit of local residents, the resilience of the community, and the pride of the family-owned business. In addition, Cass County boasts an outstanding quality of life and a low cost-of-living.

The local economy is diversified, with a balance among industrial, agricultural, and retail sectors. As the 20th Century gave way to the 21st, Cass County remained linked to the transportation sector as thousands of local manufacturing jobs are tied to automotive production. The agricultural sector has also remained vibrant, and it has facilitated significant local investments in agribusiness, meatpacking, refrigeration, fertilizer production, seed/feed mills, by-products, etc. All benefit from proximity to the producers and easy access to markets. Logansport, the retail and commercial hub for Cass County and the region, has enjoyed a particularly rich tradition with the transportation sector.
