Sharon and Richard Samuels

Richard T. and Sharon A. Samuels, Logansport, will celebrate their golden anniversary with an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. June 6 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4121 High St. in Logansport.

Mr. Samuels and Sharon Thomas met through friends. He proposed to Sharon while they were on a date, and the couple was married June 6, 1959, in Clymers United Methodist Church by the Rev. Thomas Webb.

He is the owner of Sam's Inc., and she is the office manager for Sam's Inc.

Their children are Tamela and Ron Boyer, Mishawaka, Jonni and Brent Kepner, Michelle and Kurt Konow, Naperville, Ill., Monique and Ty Outzen, Renssalaer, Tracey and Tom Puckett, Rochester, Troy and Jennifer Samuels, Miramar, Fla., and Amy and Stephen Rowbury. They also have 33 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. One great-grandchild is deceased.
