NATURALLY OCCURRING: Although fluoride is present in some groundwater and surface water in Indiana, with only one known exception in Lowell, Indiana has no areas where fluoride levels are high, according to the Indiana State Department of Health director of fluoridation and oral health. Many communities fluoridate public water supplies to prevent tooth decay.
