Put our troops

on your list

I encourage all Indiana residents to join Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman’s holiday season mail campaign for troops called “Hoosier Cheer for Our Heroes.”

When you make your card list this year, please remember Indiana servicemen and women who will be spending the holidays away from their homes and families.

Lt. Gov. Skillman’s office is collecting cards and will send them to Indiana troops around the world. Those who want to participate should send cards and letters (but no money or gifts) by Wednesday, Nov. 18, to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Statehouse, 200 W. Washington St., Indianapolis IN 46204-2797.

Both of our offices received about 20,000 cards for troops last year, and we hope to top that this year.

During a season of giving, it’s important for us to remember those who are putting action behind our hopes for peace on earth. I am thankful for our troops and hope many residents will take the time to express their appreciation to them through the lieutenant governor’s wonderful program.

State senator, District 18

George Plasterer for their calls and Cross-Wind United Methodist Church for their funeral dinner and all their caring.

A special thanks to the praise team for their wonderful music. A very special thanks to Bob and Linda Clark and her many friends who were there for Laurie and us.

Laurie left her footprint in the world. She was a very caring and loving person.
