State Sen. Randy Head will be Logansport’s next city attorney, Mayor-elect Ted Franklin announced today.
The announcement comes just two days after Franklin announced that his first choice, Logansport attorney Matt Barrett, could not serve in the role due to his involvement in an ongoing lawsuit against the city.
Head, a Republican who was elected to the Indiana Senate in 2008, worked as a Cass County deputy prosecutor from 2003 until his election.
Other media outlets have reported that Franklin said state officials determined there would be no conflict of interest in having a state senator serving as city attorney.
Updates on this story will be posted to pharostribune.com as they become available.
