LOGANSPORT —
An exterior wall and interior partition was reported collapsed Wednesday morning at 313 E. Market St.
A citizen contacted the Logansport Streets Department at 11:03 a.m. today and reported the collapsed wall. City building commissioner Bill Drinkwine said the building was unoccupied.
Officials do not yet know what caused the collapse, Drinkwine said. There is danger of other parts of the building collapsing, including part of the roof.
A demolition crew arrived on scnee shortly after noon to work to stabilize the building.
The gas and electric was disconnected from the building at about noon.
Surrounding buildings should not be affected, said Drinkwine. He said he believed the building was owned by LEDF.
The Logansport Fire Department, police department, streets department and Logansport Municipal Utilities responded to the scene.

Mitch Figert, executive director at American Red Cross of North Central Indiana, announced a shelter has been created at the Logansport branch of the American Red Cross, 1200 W. Market, and should be open at 3 p.m. today.

The Eel River has surpassed its flood stage level near Logansport. As of 10:45 a.m., the river was at 9.9 feet, with the flood stage at 9 feet.

Police: Meth lab bust nets 4 arrests
Officers executing a search warrant at 311 Fulton Ave., Rochester, found an active methamphetamine lab, items commonly associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Homeowners Blanford Tolbert, 37, and Summer Tolbert, 32, were incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail to face three felony charges each.
