Smooth election process so far in Cass County

LOGANSPORT — Voters waited in line for about 40 minutes at the Logansport Mall this afternoon, but poll workers said they saw shorter lines in the morning.

Erin Young of Logansport said though the wait was longer than expected, the voting machines did not pose any problems.

“It worked fine for me,” Young said.

Poll workers also said they had not had any problems with the voting process so far.

Although there was a long line at the Cass County Senior Center, it was moving quickly this afternoon.

Jennifer Kistler said the choice for the local race was hard but the presidential choice was easy.

“There’s something exciting about voting on Election Day,” Kistler said.

Former Logansport Mayor Mike Fincher was showing support for coroner candidate Randy Rozzi outside the Cass County Senior Center vote center.

Fincher, who voted early at the Cass County Courthouse, said the vote center was busy.

“If you don’t voice your opinion, you aren’t doing your job,” Fincher said. “I don’t think people realize how hard it is to put your name on a ballot. I have the utmost respect for people who run for politics.”
