More than 13,000 cast votes in Cass County

LOGANSPORT — As polls are closing, Cass County Clerk Beth Liming said  more than 13,000 Cass County residents had voted.

Nearly 5,000 of those votes were cast on Election Day and 8,696 were cast early.

Liming said there are 22,212 registered voters in the county.

“There have been some lines today, but nothing drastic,” Liming said.

Liming said there have been about 400 voters per hour.

“There haven’t been any problems with equipment today,” Liming said. “Poll workers are helpful and getting people through lines quickly.”

Liming said in the past, they’ve seen half of registered voters vote early and half vote on election day. In the 2008 election, a larger number of people voted early than on election day, Liming said.
