Former Logansport police officer Carlos Paul Leal was arrested Friday afternoon on two charges of theft, according to information obtained today by the Pharos-Tribune.
A warrant had been issued for Leal, 32, of Delphi on the two felony counts, and he turned himself in at Cass County Jail, officials said.
The charges stemmed from two separate investigations, Cass County Prosecutor Kevin Enyeart said late this afternoon.
The first related to the city investigation that led to the Logansport Board of Public Works and Safety firing Leal in early April. At that time, city officials said the termination was because Leal charged “inappropriate expenses” to a city account.
