LMH sees physician network changes
Dr. Eric Knabel has left the Logansport Memorial Hospital Physician Network to relocate near family in Colorado.
To make an appointment with Lisa Nollenberger, Dr. Knabel’s physician assistant, in January and February or to receive assistance in locating a new provider and transferring patient records, call 574-739-0913 by March 1.
After March 1, Nollenberger will relocate to practice with Dr. Kenneth Kigorwe in Suite 270 of Medical Office Building West.
Local author’s book named as finalist
Sylvia Loner, author of “55 Ways to Save Money on....a Funeral!” was named a finalist by USABookNews.com for the National Best Books 2009 Awards.
More than 500 winners and finalist were announced in over 140 categories covering print and audio books for the sixth annual awards.
Loner was informed she was selected as an award-winning finalist in the “Health: Death and Dying” category. This is the second time Loner’s book was chosen as a finalist in a national book competition. The book, which was released in February, was honored for the first time in May.
The winner of the “Heath: Death and Dying” category was author Joellyn St. Pierre, D. DIV. for the book “The Art of Death Midwifery: An Introduction and Beginner’s Guide.”

Farmer workshop focuses on finance
WEST LAFAYETTE — Purdue University will host a workshop series for farmers called “Charting Your Farm’s Financial Future.”
Workshops will be conducted Jan. 26 in Tipton and Jan. 28 in Rochester.
The Tipton workshop will be 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 26 in the Extension Education Center at the Tipton County Fairgrounds, 1200 S. Main St. The office can be reached at 765-675-1177. In Rochester, the workshop runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Fulton County Fairgrounds Extension Office, 1009 W. Third St. The office can be reached at 574-223-3397.
Each workshop will address such topics as balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, financial analysis, performance ratios and managing risk. The programs are sponsored by Purdue Extension’s Women in Agriculture Team.
Workshop registration is $30 per person and $15 for each additional person from the same operation or family. Registration fees increase $10 per person after the Jan. 19 deadline. Checks are payable to Purdue University and can be mailed to Purdue Extension, The Education Store, 231 S. University St., West Lafayette IN 47907-2094.
