SAT Preparation

Ivy Tech to offer SAT preparation courses

KOKOMO — Ivy Tech Community College will be offering three SAT preparation courses during the coming months for college-bound high school students through its Department of Workforce and Economic Development. The classes will be held at the college’s Workforce and Economic Development building in Kokomo, 1701 Touby Pike.

The CollegeBoard® SAT preparation course delivers comprehensive school-based programs that produce results and use actual standardized tests to provide detailed skills analysis. Students will receive feedback focusing on their weaker skills and areas for improvement.

The course consists of eight hours of preparation spread out over two consecutive Saturdays. The class costs $55 and will be offered in Kokomo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 20 and 27; April 17 and 24; and May 15 and 22.

College-bound high school students are encouraged to take one of the CollegeBoard® SAT preparation courses because most colleges and universities require students to meet a minimum SAT score prior to admission. In addition, many scholarships and grants require minimum SAT scores. By properly preparing for the test, students can improve their scores. The next official SAT test dates are March 13, May 1, and June 5.

For more information about the CollegeBoard® SAT preparation course offered through Ivy Tech Community College’s Department of Workforce and Economic Development or to register, contact Chad Lewis at (800) 459-0561, ext. 528, or e-mail him at clewis97@ivytech.edu.
