Frank L. Morris Athletic Scholarship supporting LHS
A scholarship that benefits graduating seniors from Logansport and Peru High School is now available through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation Inc.
The Frank L. Morris Athletic Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Frank who graduated from Wabash High School in 1970 and attended Purdue University where he played college baseball. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in engineering at Purdue, Frank went on to further his education and obtained a masters in business administration at Ball State University.
Frank became an avid golfer and enjoyed the game, the course, and all that played with him. He dedicated many years to teaching the game to his two children, Alison (Morris) Mount and Frank Morris II who eventually went on to play the game in college.
The scholarship benefits students who display good academic and athletic accomplishments.
Applications, specific criteria and instructions can be found at the Logansport and Peru High School Guidance Departments, the Miami County Community Foundation office located at 13 E. Main St. in Peru, or online at nicf.org. The deadline is March 15.
Those with scholarship questions or for more information about the Community Foundation contact Corinne Becknell Lucas, Scholarship Coordinator for the Northern Indiana Community Foundation toll free at 877-432-6423.

Voters still have much to decide
Voter turnout is down significantly from four years ago when Indiana was in the middle of a Democratic presidential primary. There are some important offices still on the ballot, and voters have a civic duty to take part in the process.
