Galveston Spirit

Galveston Elementary showing true blue spirit

Galveston Elementary had festivities the entire week before Super Bowl Sunday as the Colts were gearing up for Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. Something special was planned for each day of the week for the students.

Prizes were awarded for Prettiest, Bluest, Most Original, Most Horse Shoes and Craziest.

The entire school participated — grades kindergarten through sixth and all staff. Prizes also were awarded daily for the most spirited in each class.

C — Colorful Monday (students wore their most colorful clothes to support the Colts)

O — Opposite Tuesday (students wore their clothes inside out or mismatched)

L — Let’s Help Others Wednesday (students collected $262 in “soup bowls” to help a Soup Kitchen)

T — Twins Thursday (students wore the same outfit as their friend)

S — Spirit Friday (students wore their Colts colors to school)

There also was a door decorating contest with the winning class receiving ice cream.
