As always, in full disclosure, I am an independent voting Christian conservative. There are so many reasons why this president has not earned a second term, but I will just address one of them. That would be the so-called war on seniors that the Democrats have been accusing the Republicans of waging. I contend if there is a “war on seniors”, it is the Democrats who have fired the first shot. Depending on the source, the president has already removed upwards of $500 to $700 billion from Medicare
to fund his “affordable health care plan.” This has been taken from the Medicare advantage plans that so many of us seniors have.
Since I have been aware of this fact for some time, I can’t say I was surprised when I received my annual notice from my insurer about
changes in my policy for the coming year. My premium is going up and my out-of-pocket expenses have been raised over $2,000 per year. I would encourage my fellow seniors to consider who is really waging a “war on seniors” when they cast their vote. Also, remember that Joe Donnelly has voted with his party on every important vote including the “affordable health care plan.” He did this after a number of town hall sessions where it was obvious that the majority in attendance was opposed. This is his right to do, but it tells me that he has no intention of representing his constituents.
Hold everything, a news flash just reported that the president is giving the MAP insurers a bonus to hold off the inevitable until after the election. Can anyone say, “buying votes”? What a mess our government is in.

PUBLIC FORUM: Mayor tells residents of positive change
When the residents of Logansport elected me as their new mayor in November 2011, it was truly an honor.
Our city was battling back from a devastating loss of 1,500 jobs in five years, a recession that wasn’t letting up on the household income of our residents, a divided fire protection commitment in our county and an overall sense of loss in our community. -
PUBLIC FORUM: Say thank you during National Nurses Week

PUBLIC FORUM: The reality of a new American Promise
Fracking. We’ve all heard the term lately. Fracking is the process whereby water and other chemicals are injected into the earth to cause underground rock formations to fracture, creating space for oil and natural gas to collect and be pumped to the service.
