I read a letter the other day where the person wrote that social breakdown in our society is the cause for our problems, not the guns. That makes sense to me. When we can no longer have prayer in our schools or unable to make public displays of the Ten Commandments, etc., what can you expect?
Thou shalt not kill. One of the commandments. How many people do you suppose know all of them? Look around and see all the filth that is being displayed on the magazine racks in the stores and on the Internet. All the DVD games that glorify crime and killing. Our freedom of speech is backfiring on us, permitting the spread of this filth. Isn’t there something that our elected public officials can do to turn this around?
How many families today have church in their lives? How many remember that there is something else besides Santa Claus during the Christmas season? Yes, Santa is an enjoyable time for the little ones. It is a very magical time, but they must also be reminded of the true meaning of Christmas, and if they are, I believe that is a step forward in the turning of our culture for the better.
Maybe we cannot stop the proliferation of the filth, but if we can teach our little ones in the right way, maybe that can help improve things. The parents must be the first to use discipline. The schools used to be able to use discipline, but not anymore for fear of lawsuits. The teachers have no control and it is the parents’ fault if there is an undisciplined child.
There must be Christianity in the home. There will always be guns. There were guns when I was a kid. We played cowboys and Indians. Everyone wanted to be the good guy.
Our culture must change. Stop glorifying evil. That is exactly what Satan wants.
