River of Life Christian Church would like to thank all of those who helped make our 43rd annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner an overwhelming success. We served 633 meals, a new record.
Without the help of so many people we could not do this project year after year.
First, the members of our congregation deserve a big “pat on the back.” Their generous contributions, help, unfailing support and prayers make it all possible.
Several other members of our community have stepped up to help, too. The Roosters have provided the green beans and the sweet potatoes for several years. This year Martin’s Supermarket, Walmart and Main Street Market on Broadway donated several of the 28 turkeys that were used. Extra refrigerators were provided by Aaron’s, Direct Maytag, and Rent-a-Center.
Several businesses and organizations in town allowed us to place flyers in their stores and offices. The Pharos-Tribune and the radio stations supported our efforts, too.
Many community members just “show up” to help in whatever way they can. Lastly, our pastor, Frank Hibbard, provided an inspiring message before the meal.
All of these pieces fit together to make our dinner memorable.
