Logan man dies after Fulton County wreck

A Logansport man has died following an early-morning wreck in Fulton County.

Michael Hoover, 61, died at a Fort Wayne hospital, according to email communications from the Fulton County Sheriff's Department.

According to a department press release, Hoover was driving a passenger car north on Ind. 25 near 100 South in Fulton County at about 6:40 a.m.

The car was struck by the trailer of a southbound semi driven by Jay Voigt, 44, of Fort Wayne, when the trailer entered the northbound lanes for "unknown reasons," the release states. The trailer then also struck a pickup driven by Timothy L. Wilson, 51, of Kewanna, who was waiting to turn from southbound Ind. 25.

Hoover was taken to Woodlawn Hospital, then to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. The sheriff's department announced his death in an email sent just after noon today.

Wilson and Voigt both declined treatment at the scene, the release states. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the wreck.
