Accused dealers arrested

Task force seizes $6,000 in cocaine, marijuana.

For the second day this week, the Cass County Drug Task Force has arrested individuals accused of dealing drugs in Logansport.

Officers apprehended five suspects and booked each one into the Cass County Jail Wednesday evening on multiple felony charges of dealing cocaine and marijuana.

At about 4:45 p.m. in Cass Superior Court 2, police obtained two search warrants for 400 and 402 E. Colfax St., a duplex on the south side of Logansport. Shortly after, the Logansport Police Department’s tactical response and community resource teams executed the warrants.

Inside both residences, officers reportedly found items associated with the sale and distribution of cocaine and marijuana. During the investigation, they also seized cocaine with an estimated street value of $5,000 and marijuana with an estimated street value of $1,000.

Those arrested include:

• 31-year-old Luis Ernesto Palma on a class A felony charge of possession of cocaine with intent to deal, a class B felony charge of dealing cocaine and a class A misdemeanor charege of dealing marijuana.

• 25-year-old Alejandro Sanchez on a class D felony charge of maintaining a common nuisance and a class A misdemeanor charge of dealing in marijuana.

• 25-year-old Vanessa Sanchez on a class D felony charge of maintaining a common nuisance.

• 22-year-old Franco Diaz on a class B felony charge of dealing cocaine.

• 27-year-old Martin Sanchez Jr. on a class B felony charge of dealing cocaine, class D felony charges of maintaining a common nuisance and possession of marijuana in excess of 30 grams with intent to deliver and a class A misdemeanor of dealing marijuana.
