DUI task force makes arrests

The local DUI task force made three arrests and wrote multiple tickets during extra patrols throughout Cass County over the holidays.

The task force, made up of officers from the Logansport Police Department and Cass County Sheriff’s Department, spent 42 hours of overtime in December. The effort resulted in three operating while intoxicated arrests, 27 tickets for moving violations and 73 warnings.

The patrols, which are in addition to regular to routine patrols, are funded by a $15,000 grant from the Indiana Institute of Criminal Justice. The departments received the money in October. It is expected to last a year.
