Citizens that see suspicious activity in their neighborhood are encouraged to contact Cass County Crime Stoppers at (574) 722-7067.

Four men were arrested in a Logansport drug bust Tuesday night, the second in as many days.

According to a news release, 24-year-old Eric Wheetley of Winamac, 29-year-old Andrew Crane, 20-year-old Karon Stutts and 23-year-old Nathaniel Ewing, all of Logansport, were arrested by police following a raid at a residence at 2311 Broadway.

Police confirmed in a press release that at approximately 7:50 p.m. tactical team officers from Logansport Police and the Cass County Sheriff’s departments executed a search warrant for the residence where they recovered crack cocaine, marijuana, digital scales and packaging material.

Upon entering the residence, the four men reportedly attempted to flee out of the backdoor where they were promptly arrested.

Wheetley was apprehended by Cass County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Rohan and required treatment at Logansport Memorial Hospital for a bite to the leg. He was charged with resisting law enforcement and visiting a common nuisance. Wheetley also was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. He is being held on a 15-day probation period during which he cannot bond out on the $250 cash, $1,000 surety bond.

Stutts and Ewing were each charged with dealing cocaine, a class B felony, maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony, and resisting law enforcement.

Both men are also on 15-day probation, and are on a $5,000 cash, $25,000 surety bond.

Crane was also arrested on charges of visiting a common nuisance and resisting law enforcement. He is being held on a $250 cash, $1,000 surety bond.

All four suspects are being held at the Cass County jail and will face an initial hearing related to the charges at 8 a.m. Monday in Cass Superior Court 2.

Sgt. Jim Klepinger of the Cass County Drug Task Force said the arrests are not related to a similar raid on Monday in which two men were arrested on cocaine possession and dealing charges.

Police were reportedly tipped off by citizens about suspected illegal activity at the residence.

As the investigation continues, and with more arrests expected, police are urging anyone who suspects suspicious activity in their neighborhood to contact the Logansport Police Department or Cass County Crime Stoppers immediately.
