A weekend crash in rural Cass County sent the teen driver to the hospital with a serious leg injury.
At 2:45 p.m. Saturday, a 1998 Ford Escort driven by Kailee R. Corn, 18, Logansport, on 600E near Division Road left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a mailbox before hitting a tree broadside.
The impact trapped Corn inside the vehicle. Logansport firefighters freed her from the wreckage.
Corn was transported to Logansport Memorial Hospital where she was airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne with a leg injury.
A condition report was unavailable. A hospital spokesperson said Corn was no longer listed in the directory so may have been released.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Department handled the crash investigation.
