Man falls from roof at state hospital

A man who fell while working on the roof of a two-story building at the Logansport State Hospital Monday morning did not receive life-threatening injuries, according to spokesperson with the Family and Social Services Administration.

FSSA spokesperson Marcus Barlow said the man, whose name is not being released, suffered facial injuries and was transported to Logansport Memorial Hospital. The worker reportedly never lost consciousness and could move his arms and legs, said Barlow.

The man was employed by Fort Wayne Roofing & Sheet Metal, which is a company repairing the roofs of several buildings on state hospital grounds located at 1098 S. State Road 25.

Cause of the fall, which occurred at about 11 a.m., remains under investigation, Barlow said.
