NEW: Man charged in Ind. killing arrested in Nev.
OTTERBEIN — Indiana State Police say authorities in Nevada have arrested a man charged with fatally shooting a 40-year-old woman on what was to have been their wedding day.
State police say 57-year-old Steven R. Farrell was arrested Wednesday in the southern Nevada city of Mesquite. Farrell was jailed pending extradition to Indiana to face murder charges for the Nov. 27 shooting death of Christine Craig of West Lafayette.
Police say Craig met Farrell along a rural road near the Benton County town of Otterbein when they got into an argument and he shot her inside her car in front of her 16-year-old daughter. A friend of Craig’s said they planned to get married that day.
Police found Farrell’s truck two days later about 70 miles away at Indianapolis International Airport.
