Winter storm warning now in effect

LOGANSPORT — A winter storm warning is now in effect in the Logansport area. From 1 p.m. today to 7 a.m. Wednesday, accumulations of up to 6 inches of snow and sleet is possible. Carroll County E911 issued a warning to residents Tuesday, saying that we'll first receive rain mixed with snow and then change into just snow later this afternoon. Heavy snow is possible this evening and blowing and drifting snow may occur late tonight. Roads and surfaces will become slippery and snow covered, it warns. Travel may become difficult or hazardous.

A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow and sleet are expected or occurring. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel allow for extra time to get to your destination on time and allow for extra stopping time between vehicles. You can also pack a flashlight, blanket, and water in case you become stranded. Make sure your cell phone is fully charged and you know where you are going and coming from in case you should need to call for assistance.
