Logan couple win $77,777 in lottery

Lucky ticket allows man to quit second job

INDIANAPOLIS — Time is money and Chris Worthington of Logansport has more of both now after winning $77,777 from the Hoosier Lottery.

Worthington worked two jobs for more than 25 years — until recently.

After winning on a Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off, Chris finally walked away from his second job Monday morning, just before claiming his prize at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis.

Worthington’s wife, Kellie, actually bought the ticket that made it possible. It was a Metal 7s Scratch-off from the Hoosier Lottery that will give Worthington his weekends back. Kellie Worthington bought the lucky ticket at McClure Oil at 3706 E. Market St. in Logansport.

“We’re going to pay off everything,” Chris Worthington said.

“Everything but the house,” added Kellie Worthington.

Chris works in manufacturing as a tube fabricator, and Kellie works at a liquor store. Both agreed that the prospect of living largely debt-free was “pretty unreal.”
