From Staff Reports
Misty Knisely has been named managing editor of the Pharos-Tribune.
“I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be here,” Knisely said. “I’ve already met some wonderful people, both here at the paper and out in the community.”
Knisely has spent her career in Indiana newspapers. After graduating from Ball State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism, she joined the staff of the Hendricks County Flyer on the westside of Indianapolis. Most recently, she served as news editor of the Kokomo Tribune. Throughout her 13 years in the industry, she has served in several reporting, designing and editing roles.
“Misty brings years of experience and even more enthusiasm to the Pharos-Tribune,” said Robyn McCloskey, the newspaper’s publisher. “I’m confident she’ll leave an impression on our community, staff and publication. I look forward to the good things to come.”
Growing up in Redkey, a town just shy of 1,400 people in east central Indiana, Knisely developed a passion for community journalism.
“Every community has a story, and I love being a part of the telling of that story,” she said. “I’m excited to see the full depth of Logansport’s story and how it unfolds in the future.”
She said to expect changes.
“I know everyone’s afraid of change, but don’t worry,” she said. “It’s my goal to make the Pharos-Tribune everything it can be and more. I hope we are a hometown paper you’re proud of.”
