GIRLS BASKETBALL: A total team effort

No. 4 Logansport tops Carmel, improves to 11-0

Logansport's girls basketball team is set to embark on a tour of showcase games this Christmas break that includes the Hall of Fame Classic and the Region Roundball Rumble.

The Berries were able to showcase their talent and skill in front of a large home crowd Friday night in a 79-68 win over Carmel. Logan takes an 11-0 record into Thursday's Hall of Fame Classic at the New Castle Fieldhouse.

Logan had four players in double figures and dished out 24 assists en route to scoring 79 points in the win.

Whitney Jennings had 21 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds. Rachel Jennings added 20 points and four assists and was 4 of 7 from 3-point range. Nakeya Penny had 14 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, and Kiley Victor also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards. Madyson Price added six points and nine boards off the bench. Sydney Bullard chipped in four points, and Krista Kyyroenen added two.

J.J. Williams led Carmel (6-5) with 22 points, six assists and five rebounds. Amanda Shaw had 19 points that included 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Emily Kmec had 11 points and six boards, and Katelyn Nordhoff chipped in nine points.
