Tough start for Berries

LOGANSPORT — It was certainly not the kind of start new Logansport football coach Brad Urban was looking for.

The Berries were defeated by Urban's former team, Twin Lakes, 33-9 Friday night at Berry Stadium.

Bo Bullard had 111 yards passing and a seven-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter for the Berries, who also scored on a safety on a bad punt snap through the end zone. Jacob Shelton had a team-high 57 yards rushing. Marcus Record had two catches for 89 yards. Braxton Berkshire had a team-high 12 tackles, and Caleb McLochlin added an interception.

    Pioneer’s boys golf team took down Midwest Conference stalwart Winamac at the conference meet at Pond View G.C. on Friday.
    The Panthers defeated the Warriors by five strokes, 338-343. The Panthers won their first MWC title since 2002.

    The Berries certainly had their opportunities at a second straight North Central Conference sweep.
