A pair of records were set in qualifications for the Twelve Mile 500 Lawnmower Riding Race time trials at Plank Hill Park on Sunday, June 8.
A record number of 53 racers participated in the qualifications. And for the first time ever, a driver won the pole for both the modified race and the Briggs race. John Troyer, Denver, pulled off the double pole position feat.
A total of 36 mowers qualified for the Briggs race with only 33 places available. Plans are in the works for a 10-lap qualifier race for the 33rd position. More mowers are expected to qualify on race day on July 4.
