Caston’s boys basketball team picked up its sixth win in the last seven games with a 50-25 victory at West Central Friday night.
The Comets held the Trojans to just one field goal through the first 14 minutes of the game and just three total in the first half. The holiday break didn’t seem to bother Ben Snyder’s crew, as Caston (6-4, 2-0 Midwest Conference) drilled nine 3-pointers and slowly extended its lead throughout the game.
Quentin Douglass got it done on both ends of the floor with relentless pressure defense and efficiently navigating the Comet motion offense. The junior point guard scored a game-high 22 points, followed by Jake Howdeshell with 18 points off six triples.
The Trojans have lost four of their last five and are at 3-7 on the season.
The Comets travel to North Miami Tuesday night.
