If you’re a fan of high school football than you would have loved this one.
In second round sectional action at Roudebush Field, the Winamac Warriors turned away Hammond Bishop Noll 14-10 Friday night. With the win the Warriors earned a rematch with West Central next week in the sectional final.
There were no quick strikes for Winamac in this one. Instead it was old-fashioned, smash-mouth football from start to finish. Steady play by Zach Shidler and Tyler Katschke fueled Winamac to the win.
Hammond took the lead early in the fourth quarter, but the resilient Winamac offense went to work scoring on its last drive to earn the win.
