Lily V. Bair

WINAMAC — Lily V. Bair, 85, Winamac, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Hickory Creek at Winamac,

Lily was born July 1, 1927, in Royal Center to Edward and Flossie Bensen Miller. 

Lily married Donald H. Bair on Feb. 16, 1943 in Knox, Ind. Donald died Sept. 22, 1982. Lily worked as a checker at the former A & P Grocery in Winamac for 18 years. She served as the superintendent of Pleasant View Rest Home in Winamac from 1978 until 1989. Lily loved dancing and playing cards. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, NV. She was a great cook. She loved having friends and family come to her home to eat. Lily also enjoyed raising flowers.

Survivors include one daughter, Judith (Ronald) Loehmer, Winamac; one son, Michael (Margaret) Bair, Knox; four grandchildren, Kim (Bob) Adamski, Winamac, Greg Loehmer, Winamac, Sharonda (Jeff) Eiler, LaPorte, and David (Devan) Levine, LaPorte; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother Paul (Wilma) Miller, Royal Center.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Miller and mother Flossie Bensen Miller, one grandchild, four brothers and one sister.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Frain Mortuary in Winamac with the Rev. Brian Pinson officiating. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery, Winamac. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Frain Mortuary. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Friends of Pleasant View Retirement Home.
