Robert J. McIntire

LOGANSPORT — Robert J. McIntire, 81, Logansport, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo.

Bob was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Muncie. He was a Corporal with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Kains Trucking Company as a semi driver and then worked as a tour bus driver. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and NASCAR.

Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Vivian McIntire, of Logansport; mother, Edna Fox, of Parker City; two sons, Bobby J. McIntire, of Farmland, and Donny McIntire, of Logansport; three stepchildren, Renee Rolls (husband, Scooter), of Logansport, Tammy Timmons (husband, Tim), of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Rick Herriford (wife, Susie), of Logansport; six stepgrandchildren, Jami Best, Jodie Barber, Nicole Birnell, Nikeah Herriford, and Trenton and Tyler Timmons; seven stepgreat-grandchildren, Cortney and Jessica Neal, Hope Snay, Lacy and Braxton Masters, Brayton Nicks, and Chelsea Henn; and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Ray and Dorothy McIntire; and a sister, Readae Miller.

Bob will be cremated and a celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the National Parkinson Foundation, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Elm Ridge Funeral Home, Muncie, is in charge of arrangements.
