Robert F. Maroney, 88, Logansport, passed away at 12:47 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor.
Born March 7, 1924, in Fulton County, he was the son of Fred and Bessie Laird Maroney.
Bob was a retired yard switchman for the Pennsylvania Railroad and retired from Conrail.
A 1942 graduate of Metea High School, Bob was a United States Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Walton American Legion.
Surviving are sons, R. David Maroney, Monticello and Bobby L. (Muffy) Maroney, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; daughters, Linda Rhodes, Peru, and Mary Maroney (Gary Palmer), Houston, Texas, and a brother, Glen L. Maroney, Little Rock, Ark., six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also survivng are a long-time companion, Martha Lyon, Logansport, and her children, Carol (Frank) Robinson, Margaret Terwilliger, Betty (Ron) Rawl and Penny (Richard) Ferren.
He was preceded by two brothers and one sister.
The service will be at noon Wednesday at Kroeger Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ken Smith officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of the service.
Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with full military honors.
