TWELVE MILE — Garnet Bell Abshire Moss, 100, Twelve Mile, passed away at 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Waterford Place Health Campus, Kokomo.

Born Dec. 16, 1912, in Twelve Mile, she was the daughter of Harmon and Emma Crawford Abshire. She was married to Byron W. Moss on June 30, 1939, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1974.

Garnet was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church near Twelve Mile.

Survivors include two sons, Larry G. Moss and wife Barbara, Kokomo; and Max S. Moss and wife Cathy, Brookston; four grandchildren, Bradley A. Moss and wife Elizabeth, Indianapolis; Laurie A. Rayl and husband Jim, Kokomo; Beth Kiger and husband Eric, Lafayette; and Angie Herniak, Indianapolis; and three great-grandchildren, Jace and Rhys Rayl, Kokomo; and Marianne Moss, Indianapolis.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Moss in 1965, two brothers, John and Mark Abshire, and one sister, Orell Shand.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McClain Funeral Home with Pastor Teri White officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.

Visitation will be from noon until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
