Harvey “Sonny” Perfect Gossell, 75, of Monon, died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Chase Center, Logansport.
Sonny was born Oct. 22, 1937 in Winamac to the late Harvey F. and Zella (Spencer) Gossell. He attended Napa Valley High School in Napa, Calif.
Sonny served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1964. He lived in the Monon area for many years and had been a member of the Reynolds Lutheran Church.
He worked at the Gutwein Motor Company in Monon for several years. Sonny also worked at Alloy Rods in Monticello for over 19 years. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and watching his favorite show, Ice Road Truckers.
Surviving Sonny are children, Angel Cox (husband; Richard) of Logansport, Lloyd V. Long (companion: Loretta) of Logansport; sisters, Norma Robinson of Toxie, Ala., Evelyn Marzke (husband: Ron) of Monon, Anita Mattos (husband: Jerry) of Monticello, Sheree Sayers (husband: Jon) of Rensselaer; brothers, Terry Gossell (wife: Lois) of Jacksonville, Fla., Gary Gossell (companion: Carlita) of Vallejo, Calif., Mark Gossell (wife: Kyong) of Lexington Park, Md.; and grandchildren, Trinity Marie Long, Colten Allen Denny and one grandbaby on the way.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Clapper Family Funeral Home of Monon, with Pastor David Payton officiating. Interment will be in Bedford Cemetery, Monon.
Calling hours were Sunday at the funeral home.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey F. and Zella (Spencer) Gossell; a grandchild; and a brother, Bernard “Paul” Gossell.
