Patricia Ann Rouser, 86, Logansport, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Life Care Center, Rochester.
Born Aug. 6, 1926 in Topeka, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Harold Arthur and Lucille Marie Hubbard Flickinger. On June 9, 1979, she was married to Harold R. Phillips, who preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1980. On May 3, 1991 she married Ronald F. Rouser, who preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1999. Her former husband, James W. Montgomery, survives in Indianapolis.
Patricia was a substitute music teacher from 1973 to 1975 at Southeastern School Corporation and Logansport School Corporation. She was employed as a secretary at the Logansport State Hospital from 1975 to 1992, when she retired. Patricia was a church organist at various churches from 1973 to 2005.
A former member of the Logansport Civic Players, Patricia was also a member of the Sigma Phi sorority, the Community Choir and had previously served on the Cass Family Y board of directors. She was a member of Olde Towne Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Toastmasters Club No. 621 and the Third Mothers Study Club. She was also a member of the Republican Women’s Club and was active in Church Women United.
She is survived by daughters, Kimberly (Mark) Paddy, Susan (Paul) Darst and Robyn Montgomery; sons, James (Tina) Montgomery and Christopher (Diana) Montgomery; brothers, Jon Flickinger and Harold Flickinger; grandchildren, Melissa Paddy, Meghan Paddy, Mark Paddy, Mitchell Paddy, Aaron McArthur, Kathleen Zeider, James C. Montgomery, Kristin Montgomery, Landon Montgomery, Jana Montgomery, Fei Fei Wen Liu, Milo Montgomery, Shawn Montgomery, Nelson Slusser, Sarah Slusser and Kayla Slusser; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Joe Emmerth officiating. Interment will follow in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
