MONTICELLO —
Darl “Dean” Deniston, 75, passed away at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at IU Health White Memorial Hospital, Monticello.
He was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Kewanna to the late Herbert C. and Opal V. (Sutton) Deniston. On Oct. 16, 1971, in Walton, he married Nancy J. (Kelly) Deniston; she preceded him in death Dec. 17, 2009.
Dean served in the United States National Guard. He retired from Southeastern School Corporation, where he was a custodian for 25 years at Thompson Elementary School. He also was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Onward Christian Church, loved his grandchildren and the outdoors.
Surviving is a son and a daughter-in-law, Richard D. and Jen Deniston, Monticello; two grandchildren, Brady and Keeley; and a sister, Joyce Ann Nelson, Galveston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a twin sister.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Murray-Weaver funeral home, 401 S. California St., Galveston, with the Rev. Brian Beeks officiating. Burial will follow at Walton IOOF Cemetery.
Friends can visit with the family from 11 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the mortuary.
