Olive Lucille Lawson, 81, Winamac, died at 4:43 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.
Lucille was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Reynolds, Ind. She was a homemaker.
Lucille was married to Kenneth Dale Lawson on Oct. 12, 1949 in Monticello, IN. He died May 18, 2009. She was a member of the White Oak Methodist Church in Headlee, Ind. Lucille and Kenny farmed for many years near Buffalo, Ind. They moved to Winamac in 2007.
Lucille enjoyed walking, sewing, biking and gardening. She also enjoyed camping, playing euchre and spending winters in Florida with Kenny. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters: Marsha J. Lawson, Phoenix, Ariz., and Janice M. (John) Dilts, Winamac, Ind.; one son Michael W. Lawson, Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Bill) Tohtz, Bartlett, Ill., Andrew Compton, Phoenix, Ariz., Tracie Nuckols, Westfield, Ind., Lori (Bryce) Brumm, Winamac, Ind., Kari (Kyle) Johnson, Winamac, Ind., Sandi (Ben) DeSabatine, Winamac, Ind., and Brooke Lawson, Washington, D.C.; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Carl Edward (Marqueti) Gross, Lafayette, Ind., Thomas Franklin (Sharon) Gross, Monticello, George William Gross Jr., Perido Beach, Ala.; one sister: Evelyn Kay (Richard) Yater, Burkesville, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Dale Lawson; her parents George William and Carrie Grace Dalzell Gross; two brothers: Charles and Leon; one sister Helen Sterrett.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Frain Mortuary, Winamac with the Rev. Thomas Hopewell officiating. Burial will take place at Hughes Cemetery, Monticello. Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Frain Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be given to Pulaski Healthcare Center Activities Fund, American Cancer Society or Winamac High School Athletic Fund.
