Clarence A. Stanton, 85, Logansport, passed away at noon Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at his residence.
Born Nov. 13, 1927, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Orvis D. and Ina (Leazenby) Stanton. On Jan. 1, 1949, he married Alice M. Seward, she survives.
He was a WWII US Army veteran and a member of VFW Post No. 3790 in Logansport.
Clarence formerly worked on the Pennsylvania Railroad and he formerly owned and operated Logansport Shoe Repair. He also had worked for Comcast in Logansport.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Stanton, Logansport, children, Harold Stanton (Becky), Lucerne and JoEtta Wilson (Ricky Burchett), Logansport, son-in-law, Richard Dunkin, Logansport, sister-in-law, Juanita Stanton, Walton, grandchildren, Katrina Hirschler (Robert), Tina Martin, Tracy Bartak (Niki), Melissa Nixson (Eric), Dawn Gatliff (Mike), Matt Stanton and C. David Tolson (Desiree) and 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by children, Clarence A. Stanton, Jr., Sharon Bartak and Clarice “CJ” Tolson, grandson, Danny Johnson, great-granddaughter, Alexis Stanton, brothers, Paul and Dale Stanton, sister, Ethel Newport and son-in-laws, Rod Bartak and Robert Wilson, Jr.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel with Pastor Larry Phillips officiating. Burial with military rites will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
