Judy Jane Harris

LOGANSPORT — Judy Jane Harris, 79, of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly at 3:01 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in the emergency room at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 12, 1933 in Akron, Judy was the daughter of the late Ted and Lucille Leininger Jontz.

A 1952 graduate of Akron High School, Judy attended Indiana University where she met her future husband, Jim Harris. On Aug. 28, 1956, the college sweethearts were married in Akron.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church. A devoted wife and mother, Judy’s family meant the world to her. She enjoyed her grandchildren and their many activities. In earlier years, she loved to travel. Judy had a warm and caring spirit which will live on in the gift of life that she gave as an organ donor.

Surviving with her husband, Jim, are three daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Tim Rich of Logansport, Kim and Dan Holzhausen and Kris and Carl Hallam, all of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Casey Rich, Lindsay Rich, Laura Holzhausen, Jacob Holzhausen; sister, Jackie Judd of Goshen; one brother-in-law, Dale Harris and his wife Rita, of Florida; two sisters-in-law, Norma Judy, of California, and Chod Gibson, of Logansport; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church, with Dr. Dean Fager officiating. Inurnment, at a later date, will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Fisher Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services and an hour before services at the church on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
