Nellie Mae (Watts) Latta

BURNETTSVILLE — Nellie Mae (Watts) Latta, 62, of Burnettsville passed away at 4:46 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born on May 1, 1950 in Lake Cicott, she was the daughter of late George Washington and Lena (Boocher) Watts.  On July 7, 1968, she married Mitchell D. Latta, Sr., who survives.

She was formerly employed at Burger King in Monticello and she was a homemaker.

Nellie was a member of Burnettsville First Baptist Church. She was an Elvis fan and she enjoyed shopping and collecting angels and Indian dolls.  She also loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Mitchell D. Latta Sr. of Burnettsville; her children, Barbara E. Latta of Burnettsville, Shelly J. Haskins and husband Kenny of Monticello, Mitchell D. Latta Jr. and wife Amanda of Monticello and Blenda Mae Krug and husband Darren of Burnettsville; brothers, George Watts of Logansport, Virgil Watts of Logansport, Wayne Watts of Burnettsville and Roy Watts of Burnettsville; sisters, Pearl “Skip” Baker of West Milton, Ohio, and Marge Foster and husband Jim of Logansport; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was also preceded in death by her grandchildren, Shelby Ann Latta, Ashley Haskins and Kathleen Haskins; brothers, Warren and Morris Watts; and sister, Annabell Watts.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Burnettsville First Baptist Church, with Pastor Paul Scott officiating. Burial will be at Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at the church on Tuesday.
