Mavis “Marlene” Emery-Cook

Mavis “Marlene” Emery-Cook, 80, Camden, was called home at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital.

Mavis was born to the late Davis and Mary Emery on Dec. 28, 1931, in Linton. She was a great woman who loved gardening, spending time with her dog Brownie and spending time with her family and friends. She was also a member of Faith Community Church in Greentown, and Deer Creek Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two stepchildren, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, along with six nieces and one nephew. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Mavis was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Orley Guy Cook, two brothers, four sisters, and one stepson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Mortuary with the Rev. Ronald Green officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. following the service at Calvertsville Cemetery in Bloomfield,
