Eva Troyer

GALVESTON — Eva (Buchanan) Jones Wilson Troyer, 95, formerly Galveston, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, in Okmulgee, Okla.   

She was born in Howard County on Jan. 30, 1917, the daughter of Sheridan F. and Loruma (Templin) Buchanan. She was a graduate of Howard Township High School.

In 1938, she married Carl Jones who preceded her in death in 1975. Their children were Max L. Jones and James L. “Jim” Jones. In 1978, Eva married Harley Wilson who passed away in 1987. From this marriage she embraced Harley’s children who include Charles Wilson, Tom Wilson, Carol Swank, Max Wilson, Linda Rouch and Mary Lou White. In 1990, Eva married Edward Troyer, and he passed away in 1999. Eva welcomed his children into her life. They are Howard Troyer, George Troyer, Tom Troyer, Martha Troyer and Ruth Bracht.

Eva moved in 2003 to the Baptist Retirement Home in Okmulgee, Okla. to be near her son, Jim. She was a member of Galveston United Methodist Church. In former years, she attended Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church, Galveston and Howard Township Home EC Club and Cass County Farm Bureau. Eva volunteered at St. Jospeh Hospital for several years. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stiching, reading and working with flowers.

Surviving are her son, Jim Jones, Okmulgee, Okla., and three great-grandsons, Alex Jones, Preston Jones and Donavan Johnson, Indiana, nieces, Bonnie Skoglan, Bedford, Susanne Armstrong, Galveston and special friend Lavern McKee, Okmulgee, Okla.

Preceded her in death were a sister, Gladys Riley, one son, Max Jones, brothers, William T. Buchanan and Emmett “Buck” Buchanan and grandsons, Kacy L. Jones and Jeremy L. Jones.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Galveston United Methodist Church, Galveston with Pastor Roy E. Ice, Officiating. Burial will follow services at Galveston Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Galveston United Methodist Church and one hour before service time at the church on Friday.    

Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston assisted the family with arrangements.
