Virginia I. Corcoran, 94, Logansport, passed away at 5:08 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at her daughter’s residence, in Logansport, with her family at her side.
Born June 22, 1918, in Converse, she was the daughter of Furr and Zelda Kimball Parson. On Oct. 30, 1937, in Logansport, she was married to Carl T. Corcoran, who preceded her in death April 7, 1987.
Virginia had been employed at RBM Manufacturing.
She was a Life Member of the VFW Post 3790 Auxiliary, where she was past president and woman of the year in 1968. She enjoyed reading, dancing, playing Bingo and traveling on Senior Citizen’s bus trips. Virginia was also a charter member of the Manitou Chapter of the Women of the Moose.
Surviving are daughters, Jerry Diane Culp, Logansport, Bette Jayne (Don) Angle, Lake Wales, Fla., and Rita Sue (John) Kochel, Royal Center; daughter-in-law, Carol Corcoran, Logansport; grandchildren, Debra (Rich) Cotner, Dennis Corcoran, David (Patti) Culp, Robert E. Corcoran, Donna (Mark) Jamison, Darlene (Mike) Bulcher, Jayne Angle, Steve (Shon) Angle, Tommy Lee Corcoran, Jr., Daphne (Jeff) Sanders, Dee (Perry) Minniear and Terry (Christina) Kochel; 39 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Two sons, Jimmy Dick Corcoran and Tommy Lee Corcoran, Sr.; son-in-law, Dave Culp, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Kroeger Funeral Home with Pastor Mandy Gould officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the VFW Auxiliary will conduct a Memorial Service at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hope Hospice.
