LOGANSPORT —
Sharon “Grandma Kay” Burns, 71, Kokomo, died at 2:14 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, in St. Elizabeth Central, Lafayette.
She was born July 27, 1941, in Peru, the daughter of Vern L. Dunn and Mary Jane Murtha. She was married July 17, 1959, in Logansport, to Richard “Dick” Oliver Burns, who preceded in death Sept. 6, 2009.
She retired in 2002 from Sears after many years of service.
She was a member of the Indiana Square Dancers Association, Rhinestone Rustlers, Rochester Swinging Dudes, Lafayette Fun Squares and Bridge City Squares.
Survivors include a daughter, Patty Bohannon and husband, Mark, Lebanon; two sons, Richard A. “Rick” Burns and wife, Beth, Flora, and Gary Burns and wife, Michele, Jamestown; grandchildren, Ricky, Ashley, Abbie, Briley and McKayley Burns and Chris, Katie and Cody Bohannon; a brother, James Dunn and wife, Marsha, Logansport.
A son, Michael Burns, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with Pastor John Puckett. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boone or Carroll County 4-H or to the American Cancer Society
