LOGANSPORT — Edward Raymond O’Keeffe, 79, Indianapolis, formerly of Logansport and Biloxi, Miss., passed away at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, in Indianapolis.

Born Oct. 26, 1932, in Beardstown, Ill., he was the son of Edward Raymond and Rosemary Dempsey O’Keeffe. On Aug. 25, 1956, he was married to Phoebe J. Roberts, who preceded him in death July 23, 2000.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Ed had owned and operated restaurants in Peru and Logansport. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi, Miss., and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his children, Rev. Father Dennis O’Keeffe, Zionsville, John (Angelique) O’Keeffe, Elizabethtown, Ky., Barbara Gwin, Indianapolis, Michael (Rhonda) O’Keeffe, Nicholson, Ga., Coleen (Andy) Karle, Crawfordsville, Harold (Teresa) O’Keeffe, Denver, N.C., Brian (Natalie) O’Keeffe, Flowery Branch, Ga., Jerome (Cindy) O’Keeffe, Cypress, Texas, and Elizabeth Stoops, Ottawa, Kan.; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Jerome (Marsha) O’Keeffe, Chicago, Harold (Juanita) O’Keeffe and John (Nancy) O’Keeffe, all of Grand Rapids, Mich.; sisters, Dorothy Makley and Eileen O’Keeffe, both of Fresno, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the reception room of St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 W. Oak St., Zionsville.

The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. that evening. Visitation will also be from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to the funeral service.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Alphonsus Church.

The graveside committal service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in the St. Vincent de Paul section of Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 2723 S. Albright Road, Kokomo IN 46902.
