Kathryn Laverne ‘Shorty’ Albright

Kathryn Laverne “Shorty” Albright, 85, Logansport, died at 11:18 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born Aug. 10, 1924, in Great Falls, Mont., she was the daughter of Earl Oakes and Verna Owens. She was married Sept. 12, 1942, in Great Falls, Mont., to Charles E. Albright, who preceded in death Nov. 3, 2005.

Shorty was a waitress for the Rendezvous, and the Old Style Inn. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and she liked to read and do word puzzles.

Surviving are sons, Michael L. Albright and wife, Linda, and Terry Albright and wife., Jo, all of Logansport; daughters, Marilyn Surber and husband, Leonard, Kokomo, and Nancy Swank and husband, David, Martinsville; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Naismith and husband, Archibald, Great Falls, Mont.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday for the family at Ever-Rest Memorial Park with Pastor Charles Azbell officiating.

Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
