Kathy Sweet Lowes

DECATUR, Ala. — Kathy Sweet Lowes, 64, Decatur, Ala., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

The family is planning a memorial service for a later date.  

Mrs. Lowes was born March 6, 1948, in Logansport, to Robert G. and Delores Muinzer Sweet. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Kathy had a love of the outdoors and spent countless hours with her plants and flowers. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to dote on her grandkids.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Lowes, of Decatur; one son, Scott (Krista), of Clarkston, Mich.; one daughter, Gretchan Roan, of Decatur, Ala.; three brothers, Tim (Terri) Sweet, of Walton, Robb Sweet, of Logansport, and Eric (Jody) Sweet, of California; one sister, Cindy (Fred) McGuire, of Carmel; five grandchildren, Katie, Kelsey and Kori Lowes, of Michigan, and Jacob Roan and Briley Terry, of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Account for Briley Terry at Bank Independent, 102 Second Ave. SE, Decatur AL 35601.

Shelton Funeral Home, Decatur, Ala., is assisting the family.
