Kayleigh Ann Parker

ROCHESTER — A celebration of life for Kayleigh Ann Parker, 14, Rochester, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Good Family Funeral Home.

She died at 1:34 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, in her residence.

Born Sept. 2, 1993, in Rochester, she was the daughter of Thomas and Patricia Geller Parker.

Kayleigh was a lifetime resident of Fulton County and an eighth-grade student at Rochester Middle School. She had recently transferred from the Caston Junior-Senior High School, where she achieved academic honors. At Caston, she was a member of the co-ed soccer team, wearing No. 8 with great pride. She was a member of the Caston band, playing the saxophone. Before her stint at Caston, Kayleigh participated in the Rochester Soccer League as a versatile player able to play multiple positions.

Kayleigh was gifted as an author, expressing herself with the poetry she wrote. One of her poems was published. As a teenager, she greatly enjoyed texting, photography and being on the computer locked on to MySpace.com. Watching television, especially scary movies, and meeting friends bowling each week at Quick’s Lanes, and participating in Rock City Bowling were activities she always looked forward to as a hobby.

Kayleigh treasured the time she spent hanging out with her mom and dad and friends. She also leaves behind her lifelong feline companion, Knightfall, who was born the same week in September 1992. Kayleigh leaves her family and friends to cherish her memory.

Surviving with her parents, Thomas and Patricia Parker, are one brother, Scottie Whittenberger, Atwood; one sister, Angela Parker, Burbank, Calif.; maternal grandmother, Nancy Dell and husband, Bob, Rochester; paternal grandmother, Sharon Viedma-Aguilar, Los Angeles; maternal great-grandmother, Reba Honkomp, Nyona Lake; uncle, John C. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, David Geller, in 1997 and her great-grandmother, Golda Carter Bailey, in 1992.

Pastor Bruce Russell will officiate. Burial will be private at a later date.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
